October 2010 Hero of the Month

Each month we all look forward to the announcement of our newest Hero of the Month. Who has been nominated? What did their co-workers say about them? And, the best part… what are we going to learn about someone that we might not already know? October brings us pumpkins, cooler temperatures, Halloween, and the recognition of Stephanie Patrick as our Hero of the Month. Stephanie has been with HeartFirst for 2 years and 7 months, and in the medical field for 8 years. She is originally from Kansas, but has called North Texas home for the past 9 years. Stephanie is the proud mother of three; a son 20, daughter 18 and son 14.

At HeartFirst, Stephanie wears several hats. She recently assumed the role as the practice Referral Coordinator, and she also provides backup for the front office staff. No matter what role she is playing, “She always maintains a wonderful rapport with all staff and patients,” said one co-worker. Stephanie “lights up the office” and “is an all around good co-worker and team player.” A new employee recently remarked, “What a great spirit she has…I immediately took a liking to her.”

Stephanie plans to go to nursing school in the spring and hopes to eventually work with cancer patients. Her own life experience with loved ones and their cancer battles has inspired her to help others. We have no doubt that she will be great at whatever she sets her mind to.
