August 2011 Hero of the Month

HeartFirst congratulates Scott Wilson, LVN on be nominated by his peers as the Hero of the Month for August, 2011.  Scott originally started as a nurse with Medical Edge Healthcare Group in 2001.  He had a calling for technology and soon transferred to the IT department where he implemented EMR (electronic medical records) and set up the company owned lab system.  Because of his expertise, Dr. Rellas asked him to work exclusively for HeartFirst and to implement our EMR and cardiology PACs (radiology) systems.  Now he keeps all of our electronics systems running smoothly… which isn’t an easy job!

“Scott frequently saves the day.  Whether it be telephone, EMR or Flowcast issues, he comes to the rescue,” said one of his co-workers.  “He is always available to trouble shoot IT issues.  This often occurs during his vacation time.”  “Scott is very patient with staff who may be computer challenged.”

Scott was born in Germany as his father was in the military.  He grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  Scott began his nursing career in 1991 with the US Army and did 9 years of service.   His special interests are in new and upcoming gadgets.  Scott is married and has 4 children.
